Christchurch Police are investigating the attempted robbery of two dairies in the city last night.
The first was J Mart Dairy on Opawa Road shortly before 7pm. A lone male entered the store carrying a handgun and demanded money, he left when challenged by the shopkeeper.
Approximately 30 minutes later the same male then entered another dairy on the corner of Somerset Crescent and Brougham Street. Again he demanded money, then ran off without taking anything.
The male is described as being of average height and thin build. He was wearing a distinctive dark bandana with a skull pattern, a black beanie, dark clothing, and was carrying a black backpack.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may recognise this male or has information about either of the two incidents.
Please contact Christchurch Police on 03 3637400 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
