Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian A Finalist in the NZ Social Media Awards Along With Shaaanxo
"Born and bred Wellingtonian Lucy Revill, author of the popular pro-Wellington Blog 'The Residents' (www.theresidents.co.nz) is a finalist in the New Zealand Social Media Awards. The Awards recognises achievement, social impact and creativity across all professional and independent social media, content creators and influencers.
Miss Revill is a finalist in the Social Good Category, open to anyone who has created online in support of a worthwhile cause. She is also joined by fellow Wellingtonian Shirley McLeod of 'Yoga With Me', a finalist in sport and fitness category.
Other finalists include corporate social media teams such as ANZ, makeup YouTuber Shannon Harris (aka Shaaanxo), Kiwi sensation How To Dad, polarising Jimmi Jackson, chef Nadia Lim and nutritionists and food bloggers Julia and Libby.
The Residents is a blog that shares local inspiring stories encouraging people of all ages and walks of life to engage in their offine community, primarily in Wellington New Zealand. Every week for almost 2 years, Lucy has published an interview with a different inspiring locals, including Chief Custodial Officer Neil Beales from The Dept of Corrections, Para-Olymian Liam Malone, film-maker Gaylene Preston and astrophotographer Mark Gee. She has also helped raise money for charities Kaibosh Food Rescue and the Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Foundation.
In June 2017 Miss Revilll was recognised for her work by the Wellington City Council, being awarded an Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Award, alongside other members of the Wellington Community such as Don Neely and June Te Raumange Jackson. She recently reached her 100 interview milestone. Her blog receives 14,000 unique visits per month on average and she has a reach of over 17,000 on social media and email. Lucy works full time in finance in addition to running her blog and social channels. She lives in Wellington in Oriental Parade with her boyfriend Matt."
