Please attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin, Auckland City Police.
Police have located the vehicle that was involved in an incident where a woman was forced into a car on Monday, 12 June 2017 in Newmarket.
The vehicle was located on Fergusson Ave in Greenlane yesterday afternoon and has been taken for forensic examination.
However, Police have not yet located the woman and are still seeking information on her whereabouts. We would like to speak with the woman and ensure she is safe.
Police believe the vehicle may be linked to the Parnell and Newmarket areas and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the vicinity between Monday 12 June and Thursday 15 June, 2017.
New photos obtained of the vehicle show the 2003 silver Ford Falcon has a black boot, roof and bonnet, and low profile black wheels with silver trim.
“This is very distinctive vehicle. It does stand out and someone may have recognised it either parked at a residential address or driving around the Parnell area over the past few days. We urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.” said Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin.
The woman Police would like to speak to is described as being of medium build with an athletic physique and approximately 165cms tall. She is of Maori or Pacific Island decent with long brown/black hair which was tied back in a ponytail. She was wearing a turquoise sweater and is estimated to be in her 20-30s.
If you have any information that can help Police with their inquiries please contact Auckland City Crime Squad on 09 3026 557 or alternatively you can provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
