There has been what appears to be a collision between a bus and car.
There are reports of fires in both vehicles.
The latest reports from the scene state that everyone is out of the bus and there are some minor injuries.
Those who have been hurt have been taken to a medical centre in Te Anau.
Passengers who were on the bus have been picked up by other buses that were nearby.
The road is closed in both directions.
