"Skeletal remains found in Tararua Foothills"
Skeletal remains have been located in a bush gully in the Mangahao Dam area of the Tararua Foothills, behind Shannon.
The bones were found during a Police search of the area on Monday 10 October, following information from a member of the public.
Specialist search groups are still at the scene today.
Forensic and post mortem testing is currently underway to identify the remains.
There is no further information available for release at this time.
