Search for missing woman Kim Richmond ongoing
The Police investigation into missing Arohena woman Kim Richmond has moved into its third month today.
Waikato Police continue to search areas of interest in attempts to locate Ms Richmond or her vehicle, a silver 2014 Ford
Ranger utility.
In collaboration with Mercury Energy Police arranged for the level of Lake Arapuni to be lowered as much as possible so
that a further search of the lake edges could be conducted.
Yesterday, the Waikato Police boat and a second boat from the Waikato Regional Council were joined by the police ‘Eagle’
helicopter to scan the lakes perimeter.
Despite this activity, unfortunately Police did not find Mr Richmond or her vehicle.
Detective Senior Sergeant Patterson says the lowering of the lake follows further searches conducted last week in the
Turangi area.
“A young girl picked up two bank cards on the side of the road on State Highway 46 between Rangipo and State Highway 47
near Otukou, which belong to Ms Richmond.
“A subsequent check resulted in a “farm card’ belonging to Ms Richmond being found in the same area,” says Mr Patterson.
Police deployed the Specialist Search Team in the area recently, however nothing further was found.
“We are following up on anything new we receive but still we need the support of the public to help us bring Kim home
for the sake of her family” says Mr Patterson.
Kim Louise Richmond was last seen at her home on the 31 July 2016 and left the address in a Silver coloured 2014 Ford
Ranger utility with the registration number HKD553.
In a move that was out of character, she headed in a southerly direction from her Wharepapa South farm.

Police would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have sighted someone throwing items out of a vehicle on State
Highway 46 over the past few weeks.
