"Woolston fire - UPDATE"
A post-mortem examination has been completed on the body discovered in a self-contained flat following a fire at a property in Rutherford Street, Woolston, on Wednesday 27 July.
The post-mortem was completed on Friday afternoon, but further forensic examination is required to establish the male’s identity.
Police and fire remain at the scene and hope to have the examination completed by Saturday.
Anyone who witnessed the fire in the early hours of Wednesday, or who has any information or images, is asked to contact Christchurch Central Police Station on 03 363 7400.
