New Regional Harbourmaster
Martin Moore is the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s new Regional Harbourmaster and started at work this week.
Captain Moore has been Deputy Harbourmaster since 2011. He is a Registered Marine Surveyor and was a Foreign Going Master Mariner until 1985.
His main focus this year will be a review of the region’s Navigation Safety Bylaws. He also aims to continue with HBRC’s boat safety and lifejacket education in schools programme.
He takes over from Phil Norman who retired after being in the role since 2011.
