Chamber congratulates Festival organisers

Organisers of the New Zealand Festival are to be congratulated for staging another fantastic event, says Wellington Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive John Milford.

“They have outdone themselves again. They do it every year.

“Selling more than 95,000 tickets and attracting tens of thousands to free shows is a great achievement, and that’s without the 84,000 people who saw the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

“The organisers have a wonderful knack of finding acts that attract people from around New Zealand and overseas, and this year was no exception.

“The event keeps Wellington firmly on the world events map along with the likes of WOW, and the spinoff for the hospitality and accommodation industry makes it three of the best weeks on our calendar.

“The city must continue to support this event.”
