Hunua Falls swimming hole update
The body of a young man who got into difficulty whilst swimming at the Hunua Falls swimming hole last night has been recovered by Police.
The man was swimming with friends when he got into difficulty .
A friend and two other members of the public tried to reach him but despite their efforts, sadly, he slipped underwater and did not surface.
Members of the Police National Dive Squad recovered the body of the 17 year-old man just after 10am this morning.
The young man's family is being supported by Police and Victim Support.
His name is not expected to be released today.
