Thames fluoride referendum voting packs have been posted
Voting packs have been mailed out to all registered eligible voters in the Thames water supply area of service for the referendum on the use of fluoride in the Thames water supply.
The voting packs will start to appear in mailboxes over the next few days.
If you are expecting a voting pack and it has not arrived by Monday 19 October, please contact us and ask for a special voting pack from:
• Our Council's main office at 515 Mackay Street, Thames; or
• The Electoral Office, phone 0800 922 822.
If you believe you are eligible to vote but are not absolutely sure, you may still qualify for a special vote. Ask for a special voting pack from today from the above sources.
We're holding a referendum to determine if fluoridation of the Thames water supply continues or stops.
The outcome will be binding on our Council.
The Thames water supply area of service covers properties from Tararu in the north to Kopu in the south and to Te Ana Lane in the Kauaeranga Valley in the east.
Voting papers can be returned by post or hand delivered during normal office hours to our main Council office at the address above.
Votes must be in by noon on Thursday 5 November; so if you're posting your vote allow at least a few days for it to be delivered.
For more information on the referendum, go to www.tcdc.govt.nz/fluoridereferendum or contact the Electoral Office on 0800 922 822.
