Who wouldn’t want a dream fixer that can turn your dreams into reality!
OP SHOP DREAMS is a story for all those hip hop stars that spend their days making coffee, for the farmer who's stuck in the city, for
the man who would be a hot shot advertising executive if he only he could afford a better suit - in short, this is a story about the dream of a different life that so many of us have.
Through the stereo at the City Op Shop, the mysterious, fast talking Dream Fixer broadcasts his message - he can make
all your wildest dreams come true. Eternal hustler Shadow and his friends decide to hunt this Dream Fixer down and visit
him in the hope of changing their lives. But just like trying on someone else’s jacket in the op shop, sometimes that
new life fits perfectly and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, it just doesn’t fit.
And as for the Dream Fixer, who promises to fix everybody’s lives – is his life all that great?
The Hobson Street Theatre Company returns with their new production for 2015, OP SHOP DREAMS, presented by Auckland Live and Auckland City Mission and playing at the Herald Theatre from Wednesday 28 to Saturday

OP SHOP DREAMS is written by Patrick Spillane and the members of Hobson Street Theatre Company.
The Hobson Street Theatre Company is an arts initiative by Auckland City Mission. The members have all used the mission’s services; some of the members
of the group have, or currently are, experiencing homelessness. Some have accessed addiction services, and some are
frequent visitors to the Community Drop-In Centre. The show is in-conjunction with and to help promote awareness of World Homeless Day on10 October 2015.
Auckland City Mission provides specialised health and social services to marginalised Aucklanders. The Mission offers assistance and support
to individuals and families who may be experiencing a temporary setback or long-term problems that need expert
attention. Staff provide advice, give immediate practical assistance, make referrals to other services and develop
workable solutions to address long-term issues, ensuring a more positive future for the family or individual.
