DCC launches business satisfaction survey

DCC launches business satisfaction survey

Dunedin (Thursday, 23 April 2015) – The Dunedin City Council is today launching an online survey to find out what Dunedin business people think about the service they have received from staff at the DCC. The survey specifically targets businesses which had direct contact with the DCC over the past year - those identified will receive an email asking them to complete the anonymous survey.

The DCC committed to introducing a proactive and business-friendly approach across the DCC when it launched Dunedin’s Economic Development Strategy in 2013.

Enterprise Dunedin Director John Christie says the survey will help us gauge how far down the track the DCC has come in improving its responses to business requests since the launch of the Strategy and help us stay focused on areas where work still needs to be done.

“The survey will form the baseline for a regular Business Survey where those businesses who have used the DCC’s services can feedback on their experience.”

Mr Christie says that at the moment the DCC runs a number of surveys to gauge how the community thinks it is performing, but the DCC’s business friendliness is not being well-measured at the moment.

“Sometimes we get really great feedback about how business people have found working with us – other times the feedback is really bad. We need more than anecdotes, good or bad, to inform us for our on-going work to consistently be more business-friendly.”

General Manager Services and Development Simon Pickford says the survey is designed to focus not just on big businesses around town, but also on the small to medium sized businesses to get an understanding of the service that all businesses are receiving.

“This is about sharpening our commitment to all business receiving excellent, business friendly customer service from the Dunedin City Council”.

The survey, developed by an independent consultant, will close on 6 May 2015 for analysis.
