Emergency services are currently attending a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle and cyclist at the junction of Waterloo and Carman Roads in Christchurch.
Waterloo Road is closed eastbound from Carman Road. Traffic is moving very slowly and Police ask that members of the public avoid the area for the next few hours.
The Canterbury Police Serious Crash Unit is in attendance and investigations are underway.
Further details will be released when next of kin have been informed.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
