"Family statement - Lucy Knight"
The following statement is issued on behalf of Lucy Knight's family, from her husband Peter Thomas.
Thank you for the love and support at this very difficult time.
At the moment we are focussing on Lucy's recovery.
She managed a few words yesterday and we are heartened by this progress.
We are hugely appreciative of the tremendous support and love being shown by family, friends and the wider community.
We are humbled by the generosity we are experiencing which will help Lucy in the long road ahead.
We would like to acknowledge the tremendous work of the staff at Auckland City Hospital and the NZ Police.
