Cyclist dies following crash in Waihi 2 weeks ago
A 77 year-old Waihi man passed away overnight in Waikato Hospital after sustaining serious injuries when he was struck by a car while cycling on Saturday 6 September.
The crash occurred at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Johnson Road in Waihi just before noon on the Saturday. The man was airlifted to Waikato Hospital and unfortunately his condition deteriorated over the last 2 1/2 weeks.
The Waikato Serious Crash Unit continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
