MCCW elected six executive members to its board at the AGM held on 12th August 2014 and the Council announced its current officers.
"The three members newly elected onto the council today bring a fresh perspective and very valuable new ideas and experiences from diverse ethnic backgrounds. They will compliment and provide the right balance to the experience of the 3 executive members re-elected onto the board" said Mr Ravindran Annamalai, re-elected President of MCCW. "We would like to thank the outgoing executive committee members for their enormous contribution in 2013/14.” The highlight for the year was, the very successful Multicultural Community Gala Awards Night, held on the 28th of June and attended by 250+ people including 60 delegates from the New Zealand Federation of Multicultural Councils.
Ravindran confirmed that the new executive members meet MCCW’s criteria set out in constitution; the incoming executive committee reflect the diverse ethnic composition of the Council’s membership in terms of geography and community size.
