Armed robbery in Merivale
Shortly before 11.30am this morning a lone man entered a TAB store in Merivale armed with a firearm.
The man and an accomplice parked a late 80’s red Ford Falcon flatbed ute outside the TAB on Saint Albans Street and put on a balaclava before entering the building.
The man presented the firearm and demanded money from a member of staff behind the counter. He was given the small amount of money from the till and left. It is unknown what direction the two men drove.
Christchurch Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or have seen the distinctive 80’s style red Ford Falcon flatbed ute today.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Christchurch police on (03) 363 7400.
Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
