John Tully remanded in custody after court appearance
Russell John TULLY appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning. TULLY has been remanded in custody on charges of murder of Peg Noble and Leigh Cleveland and attempted murder of Lindy Curtis.
The victim’s families and the victim have requested that their privacy be respected and will not be making a statement at this time.
Police have formed a picture of what has occurred yesterday and are appealing for further information and sightings.
Police want to hear urgently from anyone who was in the Ashburton area yesterday between 8am and 5pm and saw someone fitting the following description.
A male wearing dark coloured clothing, a rolled up balaclava, dark backpack and riding/pushing a dark mountain bike.
A person fitting that description was seen around the Ashburton New World supermarket around 9am yesterday and ask for anyone with similar sightings to come forward.
We would like anyone with information relating to this incident to contact Police in Ashburton on (03) 307 8411.
