HBRC Council Meeting Brief
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council met today (Wednesday 27 August). Some outcomes of this meeting were:
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council today resolved to defend the Appeals by Fish & Game, Forest & Bird and the Environmental Defence Society on Plan Change 6. The Appeal will be heard in the High Court in Wellington
starting on 10 November.
HBRC’s Interim Chief Executive Liz Lambert had her annual performance review today, which has resulted in a 2.6% salary
increase. Council considered feedback from elected members, second tier managers and external stakeholders in arriving
at its view that the Interim Chief Executive has performed fully effectively or better in her role. The 2.6% pay rise
reflects the market movement advised by Strategic Pay, taking into account movement in chief executive pay inside and
outside local government. Strategic Pay advised that a pay review would be appropriate where performance is considered
fully effective.
