A woman was killed and her partner injured after a vehicle collided with them on a pedestrian crossing on Ferguson Street, Palmerston North yesterday evening.
The 32-year-old woman and her partner were walking across the pedestrian crossing at approximately 6:20pm when a vehicle has hit them.
Emergency services attended however the woman died at the scene. Her partner received minor injuries and was treated by ambulance staff.
The Palmerston North Police assisted by the Serious Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
Officers are speaking with the driver of the vehicle as well as witnesses.
Police will not release any further details about the woman until her next of kin has been informed.
