Man dies after fall from Hokitika hotel balcony
West Coast Police are investigating an incident at the Beach Front Hotel in Hokitika overnight in which a man fell about 16 metres from a third floor balcony and later died.
Police are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the 58 year old man going over the balcony about midnight on Saturday.
The man was holidaying in Hokitika with his wife and other friends.
The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
