Additional charges laid in relation to Ashburton investigation

Police confirm that additional Manslaughter charges have been laid against four people in respect of the death of Arran James GAIRNS, whose body was found in Ashburton on Sunday 1 June 2014 in a drainage run off area behind commercial premises in West Street.
The four defendants also face charges of Assault with Intent to Rob Arran James GAIRNS during an alleged attempted robbery the morning of Saturday 31 May 2014.
Detective Senior Sergeant Marion Neill confirmed the four defendants will appear in the Timaru District Court on Thursday 21 August 2014 in relation to the manslaughter charges.
