Upper Hutt Community Directory to be updated and published in print and online
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 14 AUG 2014—Upper Hutt City Council is currently in the process of updating the Upper Hutt
City Community Directory and are welcoming all community organisations to update their details. New community
organisations and service providers in Upper Hutt are also encouraged to provide their details for inclusion in the
updated directory.
As a result of this year’s Community Survey, which was completed by 139 community organisations, Council’s Community
Services Division is also investigating the option of an online directory.
Jula Goebel, Community Engagement Team Leader, says “The survey responses clearly showed that local community
organisations are embracing the digital shift, with more and more community groups preferring to access information
online.”
83% of the respondents stated that they would like to access the Community Directory via a searchable website.
“Council is committed to meeting the changing needs of our community by providing more information in an easily
accessible digital format,” says Council’s Community Services Manager, Debbie Duncan.
Organisations can enter their updated details via an online form on the council website
www.upperhuttcity.com/community-directory or they can complete hard-copy forms which are available from Upper Hutt City
Library. To ensure inclusion in the new directory, all updates need to be returned to Council by Friday, 19 September
2014. The information provided will initially be listed in the printed Community Directory, but will also feature in the
online directory which will be available later on in the year.
