Counties Manukau Police investigate incident in Pukekohe
Counties Manukau Police are investigating an incident which occurred overnight in Pukekohe.
In the early hours of this morning, a 24 year-old man was found unconscious by a member of the public near the intersection of Princes and Beatty Street.
Ambulance staff took the man to Middlemore Hospital where he remains in a serious condition, with an injury that is currently unexplained.
Police have identified the man and his next of kin have been contacted. His name will not be released at this stage.
Detective Senior Sergeant Albie Alexander of the Counties Manukau Police says; "A scene examination of the location where the man was found is underway. We're also conducting an area canvass which includes door to door enquiries in the surrounding areas. Anyone who may have information and can help Police is asked to contact the Counties Manukau Police on 09 263 2709."
