Police seek assistance on assault
Counties Manukau Police are asking for assistance from the public in regards to a serious assault that occurred on 22 April 2014. At 6:20pm a 19 year old woman was attacked behind the Pak n' Save shopping centre on Orly Avenue, Mangere.
The offender has been described as:
• Male Polynesian
• Dark brown complexion
• Aged 19-20 years of age
• Medium build
• 5'9-6' tall
• Curly brown hair
• Almond shaped eyes (wide apart)
• Gold tooth
• Tribal tattoo on left forearm
• Wearing a black short sleeved shirt with brown print on the front, black track-pants and white ankle length socks.
Detective Simon Potter of Counties Manukau West Police says that a piece of material was torn from the offender’s clothing during the assault. “It is likely that the offender was left with a damaged piece of clothing. We are interested to hear from anyone who knows anything about this assault or who knows someone who might fit the description. A gold tooth is a particularly identifiable feature.”
