Assault in Edgeware
“At about 11.00am on Thursday 31 July 2014 a 15-year-old female was walking on Edgeware Road near Manchester Street. She had just stepped off of a Metro Star bus and was walking towards the Edgeware Village Shops.
She reports being grabbed from behind by a male and threatened while being told to keep walking. After continuing to walk a short distance the young female has screamed out to get the attention of two females who were walking on the opposite side of Edgeware Road near Manchester Street. The male has disappeared along Manchester Street.
Police are concerned about the motive for the attack and are seeking information from the two females who assisted the young girl before giving her some bus money. If anyone has any information can they please contact Detective Brett Chesterman at the Christchurch Central Police Station on 3637659.”
