Police investigate robbery of NZ Postshop in Whangarei
Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of the New Zealand Postshop in Whangärei yesterday afternoon.
About 5.30pm a man entered the shop on Rathbone Street. He presented a note demanding money and gestured towards his pants and said he had a firearm.
The teller handed over some cash and the man ran off.
He is described as a Maori, aged between 20 and 30 years wearing a dark hoodie, and cap with a red peak. He was carrying a grey backpack.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information relating to it.
