DCC Manager City Property
Appointed
Dunedin (Tuesday, 22 July 2014) – The Dunedin City Council has appointed a new Manager City Property, to oversee the city’s wide-ranging property portfolio.
He is Kevin Taylor, who has been since 2008 the Group Property Manager for HW Richardson Group Ltd, an Invercargill-based company with Australian and NZ wide interests in transport and logistics, concrete, petroleum, contracting, aggregates and waste sectors.
DCC General Manager Infrastructure and Networks Tony Avery says Mr Taylor has extensive public and private sector property, management and business experience, having at one time been the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries National Property Manager. He has also worked for OCTA Associates Ltd as a project and management consultant and prior to that was Otago District Manager for the New Zealand Automobile Association.
“The DCC’s property portfolio is diverse, covering our operational property – the buildings we use in the day-to-day running of the DCC – plus a range of other buildings such as the Railway Station that we manage. We also have extensive social housing and investment portfolios.
“We were looking for someone with a wide range of experience to cover those varied bases and Kevin offers that. He brings a wealth of property management experience to his role here at the DCC, as well as an extensive background in asset and project management.”
Mr Taylor is a senior member of the Property Institute of New Zealand and a corporate member of the Property Council of New Zealand.
Mr Taylor will take up his new role on 1 September.
