Water off after burst water main in CBD
A burst water main in the CBD near Hunter Street and Jervois Quay means the surrounding offices may be without water until 3pm today.
Wellington City Council contractors have isolated the problem, which is thought to be a pipe that was laid about 1900, and have cordoned off an area from Hunter Street to Willeston Street. Due to the location, it is likely to take at least half the day, possibly into mid-afternoon, before service is restored.
Drivers are also urged to use caution as there is a great deal of silt on the road. A street cleaner is heading to the site to help with the clean-up.
