Truck driver's body located
At 12:08pm today Police recovered the body of Auckland truck driver Stuart Barnes whose vehicle crashed on SH1 south of
Kaikoura on Wednesday morning.
Police would like to acknowledge the patience and understanding shown by his family during what has been a protracted
and difficult search.
Police also wish to acknowledge the assistance and expertise of the crane crew from Smith Crane & Construction, Christchurch.
Without their contribution this recovery operation would not have been possible.
Police ask that the family's privacy be respected at this time.
