Work is continuing today at the site of a truck crash on State Highway One, south of Kaikoura, to clear freight and debris. The crash happened about 5.30am on Wednesday just north of Claverley Rd.
The extensively damaged truck and seven metre long trailer were lifted out of the ravine by a crane yesterday. Searchers have not yet located the driver of the truck.
A ground search team as on site and it is expected that conditions will allow the search to continue late into the evening.
The highway is reduced to one lane in the area and traffic on SH1 should expect some delays.
