At 7.45 a.m on Friday 11th July 2014 the Invercargill Armed Offenders squad was deployed to an incident on Thornbury-Waimatuku Road, Southalnd in relation to a male having been involved in a family violence matter, where a female had been assaulted.
There was also a weapon that had been used during this incident.
A male was arrested at the scene by AOS staff.
