Two critical after Napier crash
Two women are in a critical condition in hospital after a crash on one of Napier's main arterial routes last night.
The crash occurred on Prebensen Drive near Tamatea at 6.30pm. Police say it appears the 24-year-old driver of a car heading south towards Taradale may have crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming car driven by a 55-year-old woman.
Both women are from Napier and are currently in Hawke's Bay Hospital's intensive care unit in critical condition with serious head injuries. There were no passengers in either car.
The police Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
