Counties Manukau Pursuit - Update
At approximately 12:05am this morning a Manurewa Police patrol was alerted to a vehicle performing a sustained loss of traction manoeuvre. After attempting to pull the car over the car fled resulting in a pursuit. The fleeing car came to a stop a short time later. Both the driver and the passenger have been located by police and are safe and well.
The driver of the vehicle was aged 11 and the passenger was 14. Both are still being spoken to by police.
Police would like to clarify that the 11-year-old was not in a CYF secure residential facility as previously suggested in an earlier police media release. We apologise for this incorrect information being given.
Due to the ages of those involved there will be no further details given in relation to this incident.
