Traffic restrictions on SH1 near Tamahere from Monday July 7
The passing lanes on both sides of State Highway (SH1) between the Tamahere Drive and Airport Road off-ramps will be out of action next month, to allow contractors to work on the median strip.
Traffic on both sides of that section of SH1 will be down to one lane between the hours of 9am and 4pm from July 7 so contractors can prepare the section of road for future Waikato Expressway works.
The fast lanes will reopen outside these times to accommodate commuters during peak traffic periods.
Motorists travelling to the Hamilton Airport should factor short delays into their travel time, as traffic speeds will be reduced to 80Km/h during the ongoing day works.
The NZ Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience.
