Help us shape the future of the Rangitāiki River
17 June 2014
The Rangitāiki River Forum is drafting a document that will set the direction on how to improve the health of the
Rangitāiki River and its tributaries over the next 50 to 100 years. The Forum wants those with an interest in the River
and its catchment to have their say in what that future looks like and the pathway to get there.
Rangitāiki River Forum Chair, Bronco Carson, explained.
“This is an important document that will guide us and future generations on how we manage this incredible resource.
“The Rangitāiki has a lot of significance for different communities for a wide range of reasons from traditional food
gathering, to farming and recreation. We want to hear about the future that people see for the river and help us build a
path to get there,” Mr Carson said.
Several public open days are planned:
Murupara, Wednesday 18 June 2014 10am – 2pm at the Murupara Motor Camp on Main Road.
Edgecumbe, Friday 20 June 2014, 10am – 2pm at the Riverslea Shopping Mall, 14 College Road.
