Fatal crash in Bay of Plenty
This morning at about 6 am a four wheel drive vehicle left the road (State Highway 2 Waiotahi, Opotiki) and overturned.
The vehicle was located upside down in a drain. An infant was travelling in the vehicle, and as a result of the crash
the infant is now deceased. There were no injuries to the other occupants of the vehicle.
State Highway Two was closed for a time this morning between Paerata Ridge Road and the bridge over the Waioeka River.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
