Man arrested in relation to service station burglary
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in relation to the burglary of a Whangarei service station in April.
About 3.30am on April 1 four people drove up to the Z Energy service Station on Porowini Avenue in a stolen van.
They broke into the service station and stole a large amount of cigarettes. The van, a white 2001 Mazda which was stolen from Mercer Street overnight, was located a short while later in Cairnfield Road, Kensington.
Yesterday Police executed search warrants at two addresses and located one of the alleged offenders.
An 18-year-old man will be appearing in the Whangarei District Court today on a charge of burglary.
At one of the addresses police located 20 cannabis tinnies. A 21-year-old woman and 22-year-old man were charged with possession for supply of cannabis. The woman will appear in the Whangarei District Court on June 18 and the man will appear in court on June 25.
Police are still investigating the burglary of the Z Energy service station and would like to hear from anyone who may have information relating to the burglary or the stolen van.
