Fatal Crash - SH 1 Kinleith

One person has died in a head on collision between a truck and trailer unit and a car.
The crash happened at around 3:20am on State Highway 1 about 5km South of Kinleith.
The driver of the car was alive when emergency services arrived, but died at the scene a few minutes later.
The driver of the truck is uninjured.
The Police serious crash unit will be investigating and the road will be closed until the scene has been cleared.
Traffic is being diverted via SH 30/31 -through Whakamaru and then via State Highway 32.
