Dargaville Police investigate home invasion in Tinopai
Police are investigating a home invasion in Tinopai on Saturday evening.
About 5.30pm five offenders wearing balaclavas entered a house on Tinopai Road, which was occupied by three adults and two teenage boys.
One of the offenders had a firearm and the others were carrying other weapons.
The offenders assaulted the occupants and one of the occupants managed to escape and ran to a neighbour for help.
The offenders then left the house and drove off in a car, possibly a blue Toyota Corolla. The vehicle headed north on Tinopai Road.
The occupants were taken to Whangärei Hospital with minor and moderate injuries.
Police are now talking to them and are carrying out inquiries at the scene.
Dargaville Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident or who may have seen a blue vehicle on Tinopai Road.
