Cheers to our volunteers
Upper Hutt volunteers are invited to a night of fun, music, food, and guest speakers.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 28 MAY 2014—In the spirit of National Volunteer Week and the forthcoming Wellington International Airport Community Awards, the Upper Hutt City Council Community Services team are hosting a celebratory evening for the volunteers of Upper Hutt.
All volunteers are invited, so whether you volunteer to manage your child’s rugby team, teach the local school’s Kapa Haka group or if you volunteer at an organisation on a regular basis, you are welcome to join us. It is a night to recognise all of the selfless work that so many Upper Hutt residents put into our city.
“This is a great opportunity for the city to say thank you to all those people who willingly give their time to support others,” says Mayor Wayne Guppy.
The event will be held on Tuesday 17 June from 6.00 – 8.00 pm at Expressions Arts & Entertainment Centre. It will be a night of fun with complimentary light refreshments, music and guest speakers from Volunteer Hutt and the Wellington Community Trust.
So if you help out a sports team, church, cultural organisation, or other community group, please RSVP by contacting Emma Laidlow at community@uhcc.govt.nz or call (04) 527 2793 by Monday 9 June 2014.
