The victim has been formally identified as 23 year-old Joshua Wayne ROACH. Mr Roach lived in the house next to where his body was located.
Mr Roach's family are being supported by Victim Support.
Enquiries today have continued with the ongoing scene examination at Luanda Drive. Police have also been going door-to-door in the neighbouring area in order to gain information to continue building a picture of the circumstances that led to the incident.
"The wider investigation is looking into the background and the associates of the people believed to be connected to this incident, however the information we have at this stage is that it appears to be the result of a dispute between neighbours" says Detective Inspector Bruce Scott, Waitemata Police.
Police are still interested to hear from anyone who may have witnessed yesterday's events or people who may have information on the background to the incident.
