Southland rivers rising but no major problems currently anticipated
Environment Southland has this morning, activated its flood warning service on its website so that people near rivers can monitor them.
Just after 9.00am this morning the Metservice issued a severe weather warning for Fiordland. Rain has also been widespread across Southland and while river levels are rising, no major problems are anticipated at this stage.
Environment Southland flood duty officers are monitoring the river levels and the latest river-level information is available online at www.es.govt.nz/rivers-and-rainfall or via the Environmental Data Information (EDI) service telephone line: 03 211 5010.
