Police investigating unexplained death
12 May 2014 - Manawatu Police are investigating the death of a middle-aged woman at Bulls which at this stage is being treated as unexplained.
The woman was discovered at approximately mid-morning at a residential property by a family member who immediately notified emergency services.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan says: "Our priorities are to determine if there are any suspicious circumstances around the woman's death and speak to and support her family."
Police supported by ESR staff are currently conducting a scene examination at the property and officers are in the process of speaking to those close to the woman.
"A post-mortem will be undertaken and at this stage we are keeping an open mind and treating the woman’s death as unexplained," says Detective Senior Sergeant Sheridan.
No further information about the deceased will be released until her next of kin has been notified and she has been formally identified.
Further updates will be issued as soon as they become available.
