Tauranga Eastern Link – SH2 night works to continue this evening
Motorists are advised that the second night of planned diversions will be in place this evening at the Domain Road/State Highway 2 intersection, as part of on-going construction of the NZ Transport Agency’s Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) project.
On Tuesday 6th May from 8.00pm through to 5.00am on Wednesday 7th May, the remaining three of 11 concrete beams (in total), will be lifted into place over State Highway 2 at the Domain Road interchange.
State Highway 2 Te Puke bound traffic will be diverted at the Domain Road/State Highway 2 intersection via Tara Road, Parton Road and Bell Road to re-join State Highway 2.
Papamoa-bound traffic travelling from Te Puke or Welcome Bay Road will have a small diversion at the Domain Road/State Highway 2 intersection via the west bound slip lane to a temporary intersection to re-join the Domain Road / Tara Road roundabout.
Motorists are advised to drive with care whilst this traffic management is in place.
This work is weather dependent, and if delayed, the work will be undertaken on the next suitable night.
The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and on-going co-operation while construction on the TEL project continues.
