Fatal Crash on the Taieri Claims One Life
Dunedin Police are currently examining the scene of a fatal crash that has claimed one life.
The single vehicle crash occurred in the Riverside Road area at approximately 3.00am on 27th of April 2014.
There were 5 occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash all aged in their late teens and early 20's. A 19 year old male died at the scene and the remaining four occupants escaped without significant injury.
An investigation will continue into the cause of the crash and Police are exploring whether alcohol or speed were factors.
Road closures are currently in place at the intersection of Bush Road and Riccarton Road and the intersection of Riccarton Road and School Road with the closures likely to remain throughout the morning.
Police will not be releasing the name of the deceased until next of kin have been notified.
