State Highway 1 Road Closure
Police, Fire and Ambulance are at the scene of a fatal vehicle crash on State Highway 1 near McKerrow Road, Herbert, North Otago.
A truck and trailer has collided with a car at approximately 4.15am. There was only 1 occupant in each vehicle. The driver of the car was deceased when police arrived.
The State Highway is still closed and it is hoped that it will be able to be re-opened around 10.00 am this morning.
There is no detour available around the scene. Because of this there will be a hold up for all traffic on the state highway.
Police would like to thank motorists for their patience and recommend that motorists delay their travel, or if already in the area to expect delays.
