Witness to Motorbike Crash Wanted
Police investigating a fatal crash that occurred between a motorcyclist and a truck on Friday night on Stancombe Road, Flat Bush, are calling for a witness to come forward.
The 17 year old motorcyclist was killed in the collision and witness statements have established that there was a car travelling behind the motorcyclist moments before the crash.
“It is possible that this motorist turned left into Topland Drive and didn’t travel through the crash site, which occurred at the intersection of Topland and Stancombe,” says Serious Crash Analyst Constable Hollie Given of the Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Unit. “We have no description of this car but believe the driver would have witnessed the crash or at least seen the motorbike immediately prior to the crash.”
The crash happened at about 7pm on Friday night 11 April. The motorbike was travelling west towards Chapel Road with the unknown car behind it.
“We are hoping to speak to the person who was driving this car as they may be able to offer information that is valuable to this serious crash investigation.”
Anyone who believes they were in the car behind the motorcyclist should contact Constable Hollie Given on 09 262 9109.
