Crane removal postponed till 26-27 April
Strong southerly winds forecast for this weekend have prompted the postponement of the removal of a tower crane on a construction site in lower Taranaki Street, central Wellington.
The section of Taranaki Street between Courtenay Place and Wakefield Street was to be reduced to one lane in each direction from 4am tomorrow so a 350-tonne mobile crane has room to remove the tower crane from the Elevate apartments site near the Wakefield Street intersection.
The operation has been rescheduled for 26-27 April.
